Dear Friends,

It's not often that you wake up and ask "I wonder what today will taste like?" Smoke with notes of burnt toast and campfire! is what my nose is telling me. Seriously, I'm hoping that you are able to follow the health recommendations and avoid strenuous activity today, the latest Air Quality reading is not just "very unhealthy" but hazardous! You might consider pulling out that KN95 mask and wearing it for non-covid reasons. #prayingforrain.

Many thanks to all those who helped put on the Harvest Banquet this past weekend. The food was excellent and the fellowship sweet; it was great to see folks we haven't seen in a while. You're always welcome!

Godly Play - On Sunday I announced that we're prayerfully planning to start a Children's ministry at St. Thomas. This ministry is called Godly Play and uses elements of the Montessori approach to childhood development to help children experience the liturgical worship of the Great Tradition. The Rev. Denise Doerksen (my wonderful partner!) is willing to work with/mentor people at St. Thomas to get this ministry started. Several people have expressed a willingness to help but we need a couple of more folks to help out. Don't worry, we're not looking for an "every Sunday" commitment but a once, or at most, twice-a-month commitment. Please chat with me or Rev. Denise (on one of the Sundays she's with us) if you want to know more. Starting children's ministry at St. Thomas is going to be important if we are to continue our redevelopment as a congregation.

A member of our congregation, Johanna Mdoe is really involved with the following organization in Tanzania https://www.nancysprojectsinarusha.com/ Did you know that she travels there yearly, usually in November to support and liaison with their work?  If you click the link you'll find encouraging stories as well as needs that require support. If you're interested in more information please connect with Johanna at simbajike43@gmail.com
